Using tables in your report

Use tables to show quantitative features of data and close analysis. Tables should be presented so that patterns and exceptions in the data are highlighted; for example, if you intend to discuss two means, place them close enough together to compare visually. Also, if you want to show the relationship between two or more series of numbers, arrange them in columns rather than rows because reading down columns is quicker than reading across rows and patterns emerge more quickly.
