Examples of using synonyms

Here are some more examples of using synonyms to refer to subject words:

The computer programmer enjoys working at the Western Technology Corporation. She is in charge of developing a sales program for the company.

This school of psychological thinking was able to understand how humans acted without reference to mental processes because they limited their study to observable behaviour.

NOTE THAT: it is often the case that a synonym or a general substitute word like "fact " or "phenomenon" can be paired with a demonstrative to refer back to an item.

For example,

At any given time, there is a lack of food in a significant number of communities. This shortage is partly due to natural conditions, but is mostly the result of the unequal distribution of wealth throughout the world.

The surveys used populations of students, housewives and corporate executives. This fact played a significant role in the diversity of answers that were recorded.

Rising inflation is common in many of the world's poorer nations. This phenomenon is found in conjunction with high levels of unemployment.
